Our trip has come full circle back to Moscow, although this time we are here as visitors and not residents. After leaving Nelson, we crossed the border and camped in Montana. The next day we drove into Glacier to visit our friend John, who works there. It was really great to see John and we met some cool people that work at the park. We even got some veg oil while we were there, woohoo!
In Glacier we did a small hike with John and saw some beautiful waterfalls. We experienced a “rough” Montana bar where we enjoyed a reggae band and ate at a small cafe with the best homemade pie ever. After a short visit we headed back towards Idaho. It was very smoky in Montana because of the numerous forest fires in Montana and Idaho. There were so many fires in central Idaho that we decided to go through Moscow to McCall and then to Boise, rather than driving through the middle of the fire zone right to Boise.
So we’ve come back to where we started from, stopping at Weir Hot Springs for a relaxing bath on the way here. It’s great to see the friends we left behind and visit our beloved Co-op while we pass through. This weekend we’ll be going to McCall for a family gathering, where we’ll also pick up our bike rack and awning for the bus. It’ll be nice to have bikes to get around with! After spending time with my family for my parents’ anniversary and renewal of their vows, we’ll head to Boise. There, we’ll get some work done on the bus and flush the cooling system, so hopefully our overheating problems will be behind us after that!
